How It Works

Veestro is great for people who are looking to explore vegan food. Each meal is prepared with fresh plant-based ingredients and delivered frozen to your door. Every box comes with several unique meals that you can choose from the company’s online menu.

Signing up is simple! On their homepage, scroll down to the Pick Your Plan section. There you can choose between their A La Carte, Chef’s Choice, and Weight Loss plans. With the A La Carte plan, you begin by choosing 20 meals from the online menu. The other two plans come with pre-selected meals for you. Chef’s Choice lets you decide whether you want to receive 10, 20, or 30 meals. Weight Loss gives you the option of a 5 day or 7 day plan.

Once you’ve figured out your meal details, you can choose how often you’d like to receive your delivery. You can have your meals delivered every week, every two weeks, or once a month. Then just fill in your billing and shipping information and wait for your box to arrive!

Veestro Reviews

Veestro reviews on Yelp were mixed, but they have an overall rating of 4 stars. Many reviewers said the service is convenient for people who want to eat vegan but don’t always have the time to cook their meals at home. Some said the meals were great for travel or to take for long shifts at work. There was a lot of praise for the breakfast options - specifically the breakfast burrito - and the variety of meals available.

Other Veestro reviews were not so positive. Several talked about the taste and texture of the meals, calling them bland, grainy, and mushy. One person even said all of the meals tasted the same, no matter how much sauce you used on them. The other complaint from nearly all reviewers who contacted the company was that their customer service is poor. Many reviews said they were unhelpful and didn’t seem to care about the customer’s problems. Not to mention, many people had problems with receiving their shipments. Lastly, there were some reviewers who doubted the quality of the food, saying the company uses too much soy and not enough vegetables.

Overall, Veestro reviews showed an even split of opinions of the food quality. The biggest problem many people seemed to face was customer service and fixing any issues with their orders. Otherwise, many people found this subscription service to be great for vegans and people who just want to eat healthier but don’t always have the time to cook.

When Does It Ship Every Month?

Each box ships within a few days of ordering. The company’s shipping map specifies when a shipment will reach you depending on the state you live in. Customers in some states will receive their shipments after 2 days, whereas others will wait 4 days or longer for their meals. After the first shipment, each box ships around the same time every week, 2 weeks, or every month, depending on the frequency you chose.

Meals are shipped with dry ice to keep them frozen. A signature is not required for delivery, but the company does advise that you put your meals in the fridge or freezer as soon as you can once they’ve been delivered.

Shipping is free with all auto-delivery orders, but one time orders have a $9.99 shipping charge. The company ships to 48 states, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, and they do not ship internationally.

How Long Do The Meals Last?

Meals last as long as a week in the fridge. In the freezer, they can last 8-10 weeks. It’s best to only keep a day or two of food stocked in the fridge so none of it goes bad.

Do They Accept Returns?

No. Because their products are perishable food items, they are not able to accept returns. They will, however, replace food items that arrive damaged or spoiled due to packaging or mailing issues.

Company History

Veestro was founded in 2012 by Monica Klausner and Mark Fachler in Vernon, CA. The company came about when Mark, living the corporate life as a banker, struggled to find meals there were both quick and healthy.

Mark and Monica grew up in Costa Rica, where they had much better access to healthy, home-cooked meals. In creating this company, their goal is to give more people nutritious vegan meals they can take on the go.

In 2016, the company partnered with M&A Capital, Inc. and Starcorp International S.A. With funding from these companies, Mark and Monica hope to make the company a household name.
