Scentbird is a fragrance subscription company that delivers brand-name scents per customer preferences. Each delivery contains one bottle of branded perfume in a travel-friendly spray bottle. Consumers can expect to save up to 80 percent off retail fragrance costs. Boxes ship by the third week of the month and arrive within seven to ten days.
Scentbird invites customers to select their favorite designer fragrances, or try new ones, without visiting a department store. Shipments include a single bottle of fragrance each month.
Each perfume bottle contains a 30-day supply of fragrance totaling 8 ml or .27 ounces. That amounts to about 140 sprays, according to the company. There are over 450 designer and niche fragrances to choose from, so subscribers can try something new or stick with a current favorite.
You can also order fragrances a la carte if you decide you want to make a single order instead of or in addition to subscribing. Once you become a recurring subscriber, you can then fill your “fragrance queue.” The fragrance queue includes your requested fragrances for future deliveries.
If you decide not to fill the queue, you will receive the company’s featured perfume or cologne of the month. Once you receive each month’s order, you’ll be asked to rate the perfume. This helps to not only target future deliveries more specifically, but also improve the overall scent collection the company offers.
This monthly beauty box allows subscribers to test out different fragrances at a discount price off of retail costs. All the fragrances are curated and high-quality, including recognizable designer brands, and last at least thirty days if not longer.
And, with your first order, you’ll also receive a carrying case to store future perfume bottles in. And while the company has begun to offer premium upcharge products for an additional fee, their main focus is fragrances. Other products include items like lip and blush makeup, but only select products can be included in your regular subscription box. Other items are subject to additional shipping charges.
The option to continue to improve your fragrance recommendations each month is helpful, but you can also opt to keep re-ordering a favorite perfume instead. And with both men and women’s fragrances, there are plenty of options for everyone. You can even line up a queue of twelve perfume options when signing up for a year-long subscription if you prefer.
Subscriptions are charged at a flat rate per fragrance and are available in monthly, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month packages. Each subscription option includes one fragrance that amounts to 140 sprays, and deliveries arrive monthly regardless of the subscription term.
The company does offer store credit for subscribers, although you do not need to be a subscriber to purchase items from the store. Products include makeup, skin care products, and more, including the company’s self-branded collections.
Scentbird reviews on Trustpilot average three out of five stars. However, there are minimal reviews on Trustpilot right now. Delayed shipping was the most common concern among the negative reviews on Trustpilot.
Scentbird reviews on Highya are more comprehensive, with over 350 total responses from subscribers. The majority of reviews are positive, rated five stars, while less than one-fourth are negative.
Positive Scentbird reviews reflect subscribers’ appreciation of both the quality and range of available fragrances. Most positive reviews mention satisfaction with the amount of fragrance and the prompt shipping and tracking information.
However, even the more positive Scentbird review responses highlighted delays in shipping or issues contacting customer service. And overall, poor reviews on Highya reflect customers’ inability to reach anyone whether via email or social media.
In addition to issues with customer service, many subscribers noted dissatisfaction over the billing process. Many noted that they wished to cancel or skip a delivery but that they could not reach customer service and were charged before they were able to get a response.
Past reviews also highlighted customers’ inability to cancel their subscriptions online. However, based on the company’s website, it seems that they have now remedied that issue and cancellation online is now available.

Scentbird’s founders include Mariya Nurislamova, Sergei Gusev, Andrei Rebrov, and Rachel ten Brink. The four co-creators were inspired by the razor and razorblade subscription services in past years, so they decided to provide subscribers with fragrances they can “date” before they “marry.”
According to the company website, Mariya is the current CEO, Sergei Gusev serves as COO, Andrei Rebrov is the CTO, and Rachel ten Brink is the CMO. Rebrov’s experience includes rocket science, while ten Brink was already a veteran beauty marketer when the company began.
The company first “bootstrapped” their company model, but investors later contributed to the brand’s growth and innovation. Subscriber count exceeded 5 million in 2018, and the four founders expect to see continued growth in the perfume subscription market.
In addition to expanding their fragrance selections, the company has also added self-branded beauty products for both men and women, which they sell through their online store.
