When signing up for Rocksbox, be prepared to answer the following questions so their algorithm can get a better understanding of your preferences.
The process takes less than ten minutes, and then you’ll be prompted to create an account with your billing and shipping information. You can allow stylists to build your box or you can select specific items by adding them to your wish list.
How many women know the pain of shopping for jewelry to match specific outfits or for special occasions? What happens to all of that jewelry once its purpose has been served? Rocksbox seeks to solve this issue by offering the opportunity to rent designer pieces that match your tastes and occasions without the pressure to buy.
This is a simple, monthly subscription service that allows you to rent jewelry. While similar companies offer the option to purchase items, this subscription allows you to try the items before committing to the actual purchase. You don’t have to buy anything if you don’t like any pieces in your set. The company notes that you can send a box back immediately for a replacement box and there’s no limit to how many times you are allowed to send boxes back in a month. The best part is, you are provided with the return envelope and postage to make it extra easy.
Rocksbox offers Forever Credits for various promotions they run and through their referral program. Forever Credits can be applied to purchasing pieces from your box. Keep in mind that they cannot be applied to your monthly membership fees or purchasing other items from the shop.
The Invite Program allows members to refer friends for $25 Forever Credits to be used on any in-box purchases. The friend you refer will also receive their first month free.
For $21 per month to have access to a three-piece set. Keep the box as long as you like or send it back for a new box. If you choose to keep a piece (or pieces), your membership fee will be applied to the purchase and the remaining balance will be charged to your card on file.
You can also choose to purchase directly from the Rocksbox shop. Members still receive a discount, and pricing ranges from around $30 up to $150. Shop orders that are over $50 are shipped for free while orders under $50 cost $5 for shipping. If you don’t love it, you have thirty days to return unworn pieces for a full refund.
If you’re looking for a way to try designers like Kate Spade without making the investment, Rocksbox may be just what you’re looking for. There are loads of glowing reviews about the choice of styles, the referral program, and excellent customer service.
With more than 100 reviews on Influenster, Rocksbox averages three out of five stars. Most of the complaints revolve around pricing and how the subscription fee actually works. There were a handful of comments about the system being unhygienic with pieces arriving damaged or with noticeable wear and tear. A few reviewers even noted hairs in their boxes though the company notes they sanitize as soon as it’s returned.

Meaghan Rose, CEO and founder of Rocksbox, started the company by lending pieces from her own collection. Founded in Rose’s San Francisco apartment in 2012, the idea is to allow women to experiment with jewelry before committing to a hefty purchase price. Rose believes that you’re more apt to splurge on a piece if you know you genuinely love it.
