What Makes Quip Toothbrush Unique?

Oral care is a big deal. Dentists note that people don’t have the best oral care habits, including not brushing properly. Brushing too hard, too little, and not replacing your toothbrush regularly can have a significant impact on your oral care. For many people, fancy electric toothbrushes are too costly or cumbersome. Quip sought to change this by developing an affordable electric toothbrush that could be stylish and functional.

The toothbrushes are ADA approved and meant to simplify oral care. They are attractive, lightweight, and portable to encourage you to brush. Complete with vibration guides, the brushes have 2-minute timers with 30-second intervals. Instead of several modes, these brushes only have one with the sole purpose of short, tooth-sized strokes to brush away food and debris gently.

Don’t worry about recharging this toothbrush! It does not need to be plugged in to recharge because it runs on a AAA battery. The best part is, if you sign up for the 3-month refills, you’ll receive a brand new battery along with your replacement brush head.

Also available is the anti-cavity toothpaste containing fluoride, a key mineral in fighting tooth decay. They’ll even throw in a travel-sized tube for when you’re on-the-go.

Negative reviews are centered around the poor customer service, indicating it takes several days to receive a response and multiple emails back and forth to resolve issues. Company History

Best friends, Simon Enever and Bill May co-founded Quip after Simon had an eye-opening dental appointment in October 2012. Simon learned he was brushing too hard and damaging his gums, a common problem, according to the dentist. Advised to find the cheapest vibrating brush with a two-minute timer, Simon ended up disappointed in the selection at his disposable.

Fast forward to November 2015 and the first shipment by this Brooklyn-based company. They pieced together funding and leveraged social media to build momentum. Ultimately, Enever and May managed to raise more than $62 million from angel and institutional investors to expand their business.

Today, the best friends are building what they call an “oral care ecosystem” to improve oral care and expand access to quality dental care. They hope their product will encourage people to pay more attention to oral care as part of their overall personal grooming.
