Nature Box is a snack food company that sells a wide variety of nutritious snacks. They also offer a subscription service. Each month, you’re able to order your favorite snacks from their site for one flat fee. Members can enjoy a discount of up to 50% off retail. Orders arrive within 5-7 business days after you’ve placed your order and subscribers will receive their next box about 30 days after their last box.
For subscribers, there are three different size boxes available, and three different delivery frequencies.

With any of the plans above, subscribers can choose from any of the snacks listed on the Nature Box website. Each subscription plan represents healthy savings compared to the retail price, with the ten snack box offering the deepest discount, which works out to about 50%.
In addition to their subscription plan, there are other options for shopping with Nature Box, as well.
If you go the membership route, you’ll still be able to save money on snacks. But, you’ll also be able to have more control over when you receive boxes.
With a monthly or yearly membership, you’ll be able to order from the full Naturebox catalog, and you’ll receive 40% off of all your purchases. Your membership fee is also credited back to your account. So, if you sign up for a monthly membership, you’ll receive a $5 credit each month to put towards snacks.
This plan may be a better option for occasional snackers who want to use this service, but don’t snack frequently enough to justify a subscription plan.
In addition to subscription and membership plans, there are also plans for offices as well. With an office plan, you’ll be charged a flat rate for each employee in the office, and NatureBox will make sure that your office is fully stocked with snacks all month long. If you’re running out of snacks prior to your next scheduled delivery, let your account manager know and they’ll have a fresh delivery provided to you.
These plans start at $12 per employee per month and go up from there, based on the variety of snacks being provided to the office. Additional information can be found on their corporate site.
Offices and other large customers can also purchase snacks in bulk packaging to receive a deeper discount. Most snacks are available in resealable five pound bags where each serving is individually wrapped.
When it comes to this service, the majority of reviews are glowing.
Most people seem to love the variety of snacks that are offered and feel that the service offers them a substantial savings over what they’d pay for similar snacks in a grocery or convenience store. Customer service seems to be available to address any concerns members have and make sure that they’re addressed quickly.
On the other hand, some customers have had negative experiences. Almost all of the negative reviews for this service stem from customers who received a trial box for a small fee, and were then charged a membership fee for the service shortly after. It seems that many of these complaints could have been alleviated if the customer was more familiar with the terms and conditions of their trial. A further NatureBox review turns up the fact that they’re an A business with the Better Business Bureau.
So, if you plan on taking advantage of a trial offer, but don’t intend on continuing to use the service, make sure you know exactly when you’ll be charged for membership so you can opt out before you’re billed.
Depending on how you use the service, your orders will ship differently. For subscribers, your first box will arrive within 5-7 business days of your order. Then, you’ll receive new boxes every week, every other week, or once a month, depending on the frequency of your subscription. For subscribers, shipping is free.
If you’re simply a member who doesn’t take part in the subscription service, you should expect your order to arrive within 5-7 business days after you’ve placed the order. Non-subscription members receive free shipping on all orders over $25.
NatureBox ships to all 50 states in the US, they also ship to military addresses, US territories, and Canada. There is an additional $4.95 fee for shipments delivered outside of the continental US.
You can reach the customer service department in several different ways.
Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 5a-6p PST. They’re also available Saturday and Sunday from 7a-4p PST. For most questions, you’ll be able to find the answer you’re looking for on their FAQ page.
If you decide this service isn’t for you, canceling is easy, just follow these steps:
You can also cancel by email or text, although live chat seems to be the quickest and most effective way to do so. You’ll need to cancel your membership at least five days before your next billing date is scheduled to avoid being charged again.
You can also pause your membership if you don't need snack deliveries for a short time (up to 4 weeks). Follow these steps to pause your account:
NatureBox was created in 2012 by founder Gautam Gupta. Like many founders of subscription services, Gupta got his start in venture capital, where he worked for General Catalyst. He credits his time at General Catalyst for much of the success he’s experienced with Nature Box.
