On Trustpilot, Mystery Tackle Box has a TrustScore of 9.1 out of 10. Their rank of “Excellent” is aggregated from over 5,000 verified customer reviews.

Many of the MTB reviews we read online discussed how most of the time subscription boxes provided plenty of in-demand gear and exclusive items. However, we also noticed a vocal minority that complained about their poor and untimely customer service voicemail and their lack of hooks included in the Regular subscription boxes.
Here's a detailed MTB video review from RhinoFishing TV:
We are subscribed to the Regular plan and received our very first delivery in May 2019.
Here's a look at what we received:
Our delivery included the following products:
Being that it was the first delivery we received from the company, we didn't have much to compare it against.
We liked the nice selection of lures and worm hooks that we received. It also appears that the contents were selected based on the time of year, which we thought was a really nice touch.

This fishing subscription box is owned and operated by Karl’s Bait and Tackle, a Chicago-based company only a few blocks away from beautiful Lake Michigan. The company grew out of the founder’s frustration with the amount of time and money they spent trying out tackle and experimenting with new techniques—they knew there had to be a better way to learn.
Founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Ross Gordon after graduating from the creative writing program at Yeshiva University, MTB has become the leading subscription company in the fishing space. In recent years, Gordon has gone on to found BioSpawn Lure Company, a business which manufactures premium fishing lures.
Today, MTB is headed by veteran angler and Chief Fishing Officer (CFO) Karl VonDibble who doubles as a brand spokesperson. VonDibble and his full-time staff of over 25 employees at Karl’s Bait and Tackle continue Gordon’s vision to provide quality fishing and angling gear for beginners, enthusiasts, and professionals alike.
When you subscribe to MTB, you're getting insane value compared to what you would pay for these items individually at the store. The company is backed by a FREAKIN' BAIT & TACKLE STORE, so you know that you're getting tackle and lures that actual fisherman would use.
They even make it easy for you to get started in case this is your first time. The Beginner's Series is AWESOME.
So, yes, it's worth it!
