The Mantry Box is an edible gift basket specifically for men that encourages them to sample new foods and learn to cook with different products. Each box includes six full-size food products that match a specific theme, along with preparation guides that instruct home chefs on how to use each item. Each box contains over $75 worth of food products. Boxes ship every two months on the same date as your original order.
Two delivery options give you flexibility with your Mantry subscription. Whichever plan you choose, deliveries arrive every two months. Therefore, there is no single month-to-month option.
Every two months
Get free shipping on your box and receive a new themed kit every two months.
Includes six boxes over a period of 12 months. Up-front purchase of a 12-month plan qualifies you to receive a free jerky kit, too. The jerky kit has a value of $30.
Boxes on both plan options include:
Gift subscriptions let you choose whether to send one box one time, three boxes over six months, or 6 boxes over 12 months. Gift boxes ship the day after you order and arrive within 3-5 business days. You can even add a gift message at checkout when purchasing a subscription for someone else.
Occasionally, special promotions allow you to purchase past boxes. This is the only way to choose which products you receive, but it requires a subscription to company updates via email. There is no online store where you can shop for specific boxes.
However, if you have food allergies, notify the company before placing your order, and they’ll do their best to accommodate your needs.
If you are in an intense time crunch, you can also purchase a gift card so that your gift recipient can order when it’s convenient for them. This option requires that you contact the company directly, however. There is no other information about gift card options on the website.
Unfortunately, we’ve scoured the internet for feedback on Mantry subscription boxes, but there’s nothing to report on yet. There is a variety of unboxing videos online, however, including some YouTube reviewers who are affiliates of the company.

After you order your first box, it should arrive within 2-6 business days. All packages ship via USPS Priority mail. Recurring subscriptions will begin arriving approximately two months to the day of your first order for the duration of the subscription.
Subscribers should receive their boxes around the same time every second month, but there are no details on shipping dates. Billing occurs every two months from the date of your first order, so each subscriber has a unique billing date.
Currently, subscriptions are only available within the United States. This includes boxes that shoppers purchase as part of promotional one-time order programs.
Stay tuned for expansion into other countries.
Currently, the only way to contact the company is via email. Be sure to include your account or order information when reaching out.
You can also try their social media pages on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, or Facebook for quick answers to questions.
Canceling your subscription only takes a few simple steps, but you must have an online account because cancellation is online only.
To cancel your subscription:
Be sure to check for your last shipment, depending on what time of the month you cancel. If you cancel after the processing period, they may owe you one final shipment. They do not offer refunds, so make sure to cancel before the processing period for your next shipment.
Three co-founders head Mantry: Reggie Milligan, Kyle Zien, and Tony Hancock. The three are familiar with the startup world, and they’re all passionate about food. Reggie was an apprentice at The French Laundry, a renowned Napa Valley restaurant, before starting his own food company.
Tony founded online apparel shop Ethical Ocean, while Kyle is part owner of Bevcheck, a hospitality industry beer management system. Kyle also grew up in the restaurant business. All three enjoy food and travel, highlighting the best places to find food that meets foodie expectations worldwide.
The premise of the company is that men can appreciate American artisan foods and learn to cook with them. Their food and beverage items come from US-based businesses, some of which are startups, while others are individual restaurant chefs.
In the video below, Reggie Milligan explains how his childhood started with an interest in famous chefs and culinary techniques. He won a full scholarship to culinary school but passed on the opportunity to get hands-on experience in restaurants instead.
Despite a few changes and hurdles along his career path, Milligan started hosting dinner parties with his friends. He kept it up over the years and continued to cook. This concept later turned into a business that offered communal dinners as a means of social interaction.
Milligan later sold that Canadian company, but he remained interested in unique and locally produced food items. He and his partners started with door-to-door pitches to men that they hoped would be interested in artisanal food.
The business model then turned to sign-ups online only, delivering subscription boxes to consumers every two months. The original founders still source the products in each box, and Mantry offerings are their top picks in a range of categories covering food, beverages, and condiments.
