Honest Beauty provides subscribers with the products of their choice for a low monthly cost. Subscriptions include a minimum of three beauty and makeup products. Customers can expect to save 50 percent off retail prices. Boxes ship a minimum of every four weeks from the first date that you order, but subscribers can choose six- or eight-week ship dates as well.
Honest Beauty guarantees that all its products meet high quality, design, and safety standards. This is the same company that provides products for the home and families, such as diaper subscriptions and cleaning products.
The Beauty Bundles, however, are separate from the household and kids’ products. In these subscriptions, customers get to choose three (or more) products they want as part of their bundle. Then, they choose a delivery schedule of either every four, six, or eight weeks to continue receiving their favorite items.
The main website covers all the beauty products, so for the box, you’ll need to click on “Bundles.” To sign up, click on “Start my bundle” or “sign me up” from the bundles page. On the following page, you can select the three basic products you want to receive in your bundle. Once you search through the products and decide on three, you can add up to five more items at a discount.
To add an item to your bundle, click “Add” on that product. You will see it appear in the tab at the top and bottom of the screen. Once you fill up the three primary areas, you can then choose five more products to fill up the extra spaces.
Products include everything from skincare items such as lotions for dry skin, cleansers, tinted moisturizer, oil blotting tissues, and masks to makeup products like lip crayons, eye shadow palettes, cream foundation, lengthening mascara, primer, and more.
When you are finished shopping for your bundle items, click “Add to bag” to continue through the signup process. Once you click “Proceed to checkout” you’ll receive a prompt to sign in either with an account or via Facebook. Then, complete your billing and signup information to confirm your subscription.
Honest Beauty is unique in the world of monthly beauty boxes because you get to choose your products. Beyond that, each product is formulated to be cruelty-free and high-quality. Instead of curating products from other brands, the Honest Company creates its own products to ship to subscribers.
Among the company’s policies is the “Honestly Free Guarantee,” which promises that every product adheres to strict standards, such as not including parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil, sulfates, and other harmful ingredients. None of their products are tested on animals, either.
There is only one “beauty bundle” subscription, but you can customize your order to include more products if you desire.
The beauty company’s parent company, The Honest Company, has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau but has very low ratings overall from consumers. While there are no comments specifically regarding Honesty Beauty reviews, many negative comments highlight issues with shipping of orders and the ability to work things out with customer service.
Because the beauty part of the website specifies that customers can use their login information from the company site for the beauty product side, it stands to reason that the companies’ shipping and customer service departments are the same as well.
Reviews on Highya for Honest Beauty were exceedingly negative as well; however, none of those customers spoke specifically about the beauty bundle service. The beauty product bundle options are relatively new, however, so stay tuned for more reviews as they turn up.

It’s tough to find a lot of company information since the service is relatively new and is only part of what the parent company offers. However, the Honest Company itself started with actress Jessica Alba, who wanted better quality products for her baby when she had her first child, back in 2011.
Instead of laundry detergent that caused rashes and diapers with questionable ingredients, Jessica began researching all the potentially harmful components in baby products and then came up with her own alternatives.
The products began with diapers, soaps, and household cleaning products, and the beauty offerings are the most recent in the brand’s development. Alba is quoted as saying that her motivation was to provide everything families need to take care of their homes and families. In her words, everything needs to be nontoxic, effective, beautiful to look at, and affordable.
When the company first started, they only offered 17 products. Today, the beauty aspect of the company sells over 80 products. Many of the items are also available at Ulta beauty, Target, and Sephora, though those companies do not offer bundle discounts in the way the subscription service does.
Jessica Alba originally worked in collaboration with Brian Lee, Sean Kane, and Christopher Gavigan to create Honest Beauty, and all are credited as co-founders. Today, Jessica Alba still serves as a Chairperson, but the CEO is now Nick Vlahos and the CPO is Christopher Gavigan.
