Boxycharm is a beauty subscription that delivers four or five beauty products to subscribers each month. All the beauty products are brand-name and provide plenty of value at a low cost. Past boxes have included items such as Nudestix eye color, a Smashbox lip product, a Tula sheet mask, and Too Faced mascara.

In general, subscribers can expect a range of products spanning categories such as makeup, skincare, beauty tools, and color cosmetics. Also, each box has a minimum value of $100, while other offerings are worth as much as $300.

Although there are specific products for each month’s shipment, boxes will vary, so consumers aren’t guaranteed a particular product out of the lineup.

To subscribe, you can click on the “SUBSCRIBE” button on any page of the company’s website. You will then choose a subscription term ranging between one and 12 months. After you choose a term, the box will show up in your cart, where you can apply any promotional or coupon codes.

On the same page, you’ll create an account and enter shipping and billing information. After you click on “PAY NOW,” that begins your subscription.

When Does It Ship Every Month?

Your initial box will ship within five to ten business days after ordering. Recurring subscriptions ship out within five to ten business days of the first of each month.

The BoxyLuxe addition only ships four times per year, and subscribers will receive notification before those boxes ship as specific dates will vary. 

How Can I Contact Customer Service?

Currently, the only way to contact the beauty subscription company’s customer service is via an email form on their website. 

How Can I Cancel My Subscription?

To cancel a subscription, visit the website and click on “My Account” to log in. Then, click on “Edit” on the subscription you want to cancel. Click “Cancel Subscription” and then “Cancel Anyway.” You must select a reason for canceling and then “Yes, Please Cancel.” 

Be sure to cancel before the next billing cycle begins to avoid charges for future boxes.

Can I Customize My Box?

No, you cannot customize the box. Even for consumers with allergies, this beauty subscription box model doesn’t allow for personalization.

Can I Return an Item?

The company does not accept any returns or exchanges for subscription boxes once a customer has paid. After the billing cycle begins, the company won’t offer refunds on any product. 

However, if you receive a damaged item or your box is short, you can reach out to the company for assistance. They require that you contact them within 14 days with photos of the damaged item, and the photo must include a clear image of the shipping label.

Company History

Yosef “Joe” Martin is the original founder of Boxycharm and still serves as its CEO. The company originated in 2013 after Joe, whose career experience includes purchasing overstock cosmetics in a buyer role, decided to find a new way to deliver top beauty brands to consumers.

In contrast with other beauty box brands, Joe’s company pays brands for their products, allowing brands to participate in the subscription model free of cost. With a background in business—Joe attended Florida International University’s College of Business—Joe recognized that his subscription box model would have to operate in a “lean” way if he wanted it to become successful.

In addition to the beauty box concept, Joe also started a company called Merchandize Liquidators, utilizing his business expertise to purchase overstocked products and distribute them to bulk retailers at a profit.
